GRIGORE MORA GALLERY
It is owned by Avrig 35, a real estate company founded in Bucharest. Along time, this company supported artists by regularly buying their works. The art collection of Avrig 35 consists now of over 1500 works of art mainly by young artists from Bucharest. Also, the company supported the travel and studies expenses for a large number of artists and initiated an international art fair and is a sponsor of two festivals of young musicians.
Grigore Mora gallery wants to support this project by assuring for 12 months the spaces needed for the project to go on and where the artists will meet to discuss and form groups. At the end of these 12 months the Gallery will exhibit the documentation made for the public art projects as well as presentations of new projects.
An important objective is to identify the artists that are interested in developing their ideas through public art projects. This is why there is a wide number of artists expected to get involved - about twenty artists of different specialities ( painting, sculpture, graphics, decorative arts, media and architecture). THE ORDER OF ARCHITECTS IN ROMANIA
The Order of Architects in Romania initiated the proposal of a project of urban and community capitalisation in the centre of Bucharest. The project wants to make the Street Pictor Verona and its sorraundings, between The Nottara Theatre and The Bulandra Theatre, a culturally active area. This would be acomplished by uncomplicated interventions upon the public space:
- the rationalization of parking and traffic
- encouraging the pedestrians
- pavement treatments, cultural events signals, signs
- to value the visual perspectives like: art installations permanent or temporary-exhibitions and projections, sounds, lighting.
